A letter from Dr. Jaccoma on his practice move:

It is with mixed feelings that I announce my upcoming move to CT. After 32 years of providing comprehensive medical and surgical eye services in Southern Maine, I've realized my greater calling is providing advanced dry eye and aesthetics care. Upon inventing a powerful new application of radio frequency for dry eye care (adapted from its use for aesthetics) along with dry eye kits and a new eye shield - and then pairing it all with an effective and efficient way of smoothing surface membranes that commonly become stretched out and irregular in dry eyes, I've been able to help many hundreds of sufferers.

Because dry eye is such a common problem, it is clear that it will take a village (and not a single doctor or dry eye center) to help fix it. Working with the resources of OptiCare, a large, well established comprehensive eye care practice in Waterbury, Connecticut, I believe I can progress much faster and further along my quest to help stamp out dry eye diseases. I realize it has only been through the faith and patronage of patients seen at my practices in Sanford, Kennebunk, Portland and now Kittery, that has allowed me to attain my current level of dry eye and aesthetic expertise - and the hospitality of the colleagues and staff at these Southern Maine facilities has been remarkable.

Leaving friends, family and these practices behind is only possible because of this tremendous opportunity and my goal is to leave a well developed version of my current practice in place to continue offering advanced dry eye and aesthetics services at the Kittery Eye office. Thanks to Shanda Curtin, RN, who has learned the majority of my treatments and has helped me maintain my own dry eye (& aesthetics!) care and to Stewart Turner, MD, who plans to continue offering some of my more advanced surgical dry eye treatments, I think we can continue to cater to the needs of both new and former patients.

Needless to say, all patients, friends and family members are encouraged to visit me in my new office digs in Waterbury. I begin seeing patients there September 4th and while I will continue on a part-time basis to see patients in Kittery through the fall, I plan to practice full-time in Waterbury by December. For any patients who would like to see me in Kittery before my full transition, feel free to call my secretary, Danielle Dugay, to help schedule a visit soon - as available hours are becoming extremely limited!

Sincerely,

Edward Jaccoma, MD

Pelleve

As we age, collagen production slows down causing our skin to lose laxity and firmness. As a result, wrinkles and fine lines form leaving you with smile lines, crow’s feet, and other bothersome creases. Pellevé is a non-invasive radiofrequency solution to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without needles or surgery.
